Hey George, what gives?

George,
You hit it right on the nose. The only thing I plan to leave the kids is the bills...
She sure is a beauty George, OK both Linda and the boat. Knew I would have to say it or you would have. I know both of you are going to have many, years of enjoyment there. almost makes me jealous but then I do have Caryl and my boat. Now what made me say that.

"Being of sound mind and body, I spent it all."

LOL - that's what my old man did, God Bless Him. In fact, the American Express bill came the day he was buried....my mom laughed, opened it up, passed the envelope to us boys and we all put in enough to cover it....that was our inheritance! Oh, and of course, a warm home, loving arms, "three hots and a cot", education and most of all...great memories.

I'm sure your kids approve!

That's Great George..
She is a beautiful Boat and I hope you are able to enjoy her for a long time... I have always loved Formula just could never afford one..
I wonder if Gas will be faster that Diesel, what do you think?

this is for a 2000 41PC

With the right wheels you can grab 3-5 more MPH

Geo I am envious! We're still trying to collect it all so we can spend it all. At 40 foot formula... How cool is that! Enjoy.

George - They offered you the low rate financing on a used boat? How did you swing that deal? And why was the boat at the factory?

Jason, I'm a smooth operator! Why would it be a surprise, people get good rate financing all the time. Didn't I tell you a while back I sent doughnuts to folks at the factory, it's what you call good people skills! Formula is a different kind of company, we keep telling you folks that but you need to own one to actually see the difference I guess.

The boat was at the factory because Formula is very supportive of its dealer network. This boat was traded in on a 48 yacht. It was then made available to some/any of their exclusive dealers to sell. I happened to have a few circumstances come together at the right time and a deal was cut. Remember, "luck" is where opportunity meets preparation.

Cruisers is certainly a nice boat, and you must be doing well with them as your builder. I know nothing of their customer relations so I cannot draw a comparison. I am confident if Scott Porter saw me in a crowd, he may not know my name but he would recognize me as an aquaintance. Formula is a people oriented company, you can see it in the way the factory is run. When you are out on the road some time stop by Decatur, Indiana, you just may see your next boat being built!

I know Formula is a great company, but I'm not understanding why the boat was brought back to the factory, unless it needed repairs or something. Did you have it surveyed? Is there a warranty?

Family owned and run boat builders are great to deal with. Less and less each year, too bad.

I think Formula is the best in it's class for build and service. Top notch.

Good find. Enjoy the new boat and be safe.

I agree, too many big companies taking over. That's one of the things that makes Formula, Cruisers, Rinker, etc stand-out. Owned by people, not conglomerates.

Jason, not sure what to tell you. Formula supported the dealer in making a trade of a 41PC for a 48 yacht. They brought the boat to the factory because they had a financial stake in it.

Did I have it surveyed, no. Probably a mistake but I'll roll the dice on this one.

They have given me a two year warranty, its a lot more than I would have gotten from a broker or local dealership. They have also told me a few things which makes me believe unless I am a cowboy with the boat they will fix anything which breaks within a "reasonable" time of first getting the boat. I have faith in my fellow man and I feel I have been given a fair deal, time will tell.

Well it sounds like you did stumble across a great find. Congratulations on the new boat, be sure to take some Spring splash pictures and share them with us! :)

I don't think you made a mistake at all. Formula will stand behind the boat, 2 year warranty is great. The boats are rock solid.

You will be a happy camper come spring time.

Jason, you can take Rinker out of the "family owned" mix - http://www.ibinews.com/ibinews/newsdesk/20070115123520ibinews.html

Jonathan, we will be at your place for Fourth of July (Tues/Wed/Thurs) so we'll have to get together - I don't drink but the fridge doesn't know that[:-baseball] - let me know your slip #. Thanks for your comments, they are appreciated. The people at Formula have treated me more like a part of the family than a paying customer. Probably part of their formula for success [8D]

Just an aside, I guess while Rinker is no longer "fully family owned", Randy Rinker is still heavily involved in the company -- and as long as the Rinker dealer network continues to deliver they way they have in the past, I think Rinker'll do just fine. They've done just fine by me!

I'll be at Block for that week, sorry 'bout that.

Maybe they will put you in my slip!!

The fireworks are great from our marina, plus you can take the boat out to watch them and get home in a snap.

Heard from Formula today, they have my boat in the test tank. Systems will be tested as in real life situation - sorta - just as if it were new. For a used boat purchase I couldn't ask for better treatment. Hope these pictures are not too big:

If I can get this to work maybe I can fix the avatar...have a nice evening....G

If that's your boat I'd say it looks quite new.

Good deal!!!!

So when does it roll into town?
