Not much happining latly on SFBC. Whats the old gang doin. Hope you havnt all moved North.
I have spent all summer at the dock just working on replacing fuel tanks, Runnng lights, redoing wiring, etc.
Will make first trip to fuel dock this week and then get out on the ocean for some fishing. Anyone know what the prices are at local fuel docks.(Gas)
Be nice to get togeather sometime.(Sands Tiki bar, Bahama Breeze, Anywhere OK with me).

It's been a long time Joe, we should get together sometime soon.

well... about Columbus Day Regatta ? that's coming up in just under 2 months... excuses for a get together don't come bigger than that !!!

we usually head down friday afternoon/evening and come back monday afternoon...

Pascal, I have never gone to the CDR. I am going to try this year, I dont know my way around the area but Im sure you can clue me in.
If weather goes bad during the Regatta, where can a slow boater(20 knots) seek refuge.

I would not miss that event, why, it's almost a right of passage for many Floridan boating personalities .
BTW this year I won't slip my anchor...
Always more fun in the Sun!

captchas,

What was the name of the place on US-1 in Ft. Lauderdale that we met at a few years ago?, Didnt you set that up?

Must be some new members that would like to meet some of the old[:-sleep]members and have a brew and bite.

NNH was fun.

Hope we get some suggestions to toss around.

joe,

eliott is a pretty well protected anchorage, except form strong westerlies which are pretty rare anyway... not an issue... 20kts, slow ? i cruise at 9kts !!! thats only 1 1/2 hours from miami... all protected bay waters...

i think Brian setup the thing in dania, forgot the name of the park... didn't go as i couldnt' get under the bridge...

Joe, I was only an attendee with my Honey.. Yes it was in Saltysams back yard with a lot of good folks at a good Cuban Seafood Restaurant (I think)..That also would work for me for another So.Fl. get together..But Columbus Day is a must do for me.. Maybe a get together first before Biscayne Bay..
ATTN. Saltysam please respond.

Brian setup the gettogether at Boaters Park. I met up with Brian and the gang at the ramp, couldn't get under the bridge. Great time was had by all.

Yup, it was Boater's Park in Dania. That was a fun time!

For the record, Joe makes some mean beer steamed clams...mmm...mmm...good!

Needless to say, I guess I'll miss the next one. Loving life up here though, no need for air conditioning when the temps are getting down to 45 at night in August...

We had a little get together last night. Some steak tips on the grill, swimming in the (heated) pool, then making s'mores over a campfire. Of course all served with the appropriate adult beverages.

OK Brian, we will all meet at your place.[:-cold][:-cold]

Come on up!

Just bring your long johns...

Friends- One weekday luncheon meeting was held in Fort Lauderdale at Earnie's Restaurant located on West side of US 1 just one block south of the 17th Street Causway intersection with US 1. Very informal, very good bar-b-que plates at lunchtime, cold beer. Moderate cost.

Another place we tried to assemble at is the 15th Street Fisheries. That's located on the Intracoastal at the east end of 15th Street, also in Fort Lauderdale. A bit broader menu with some good waterfront views. It may be worth a return visit.

Both meetings Bill mentioned above were good fun!

Heck, if you all get it together I may have to find an excuse to go to the shop for a visit.

Haven't heard from any new ROs. Any boaters Palm beach to Miami interested in meeting to talk about their boating adventures/Pictures over a Burger and Beer/Beverage. We could also discuss a Raft-Up. (maybe CDR)

Hi Joe, we are currentlt cruising the Chesapeake but will be home in Juno Beach around mid November. We will love to get together and share some stories and a brew. I like the idea of a raft-up also.

I would be more than happy to meet some of the people on this site. I gained lots of knowledge, and had some good laughs reading.

We're back down in Boca quite a bit....would love to get together if something gets scheduled...unfortunately we'll need to arrive by land!

Love to do another one!

Eric, you and Lisa could always hitch a ride with us since we are out of Delray now.
