Hogan has landed!!

"looks like your boat draws almost 5 feet looking at the waterline on the boat"
Interesting but I've been told it's only 48".

not sure where your boat is coming from or if it's been shrink wrapped. mine wasn't and it was easily the dirtiest boat i've ever seen. a bit depressing after the wait and expectation.

Looks like he will have all morning to clean before heading out. Might as well make the best of the time.

I'd take a day off Thursday? From the Weather Underground -

Mike:

If that wind and those seas don't subside according to the forecast, my offer to tie up for a few nights still stands. Taking it easy, I'm just over an hour's ride north of Billy's Marina on the inside...easy, scenic ride and well marked.......

Dominic, I sent you an email. Thanks for the offer

I think what is printed and what is actual are 2 completely different things. Maybe when you are on the hard you should messure the scum line to the very bottom of the boat and then you will know exactly what your draft is instead of relying on printed information...

Measured it when I was there with the marina manager really looks like 4'10" but the props were not on. However it is high enough to put the props on. It might also be that the previous owner had a PWC in the rear locker? I'll call Rick and have him measure it but it might already be in the water Mike. NE winds will make the inlet and ocean sloppy depending on the projected speed. They are my least favorite winds but it won't hold us up. We may be able to leave earlier Mike depending on how high the tide is in the back bay. I will know by looking at the marsh next to my boat. The only part I am concerned about is the sticks before the flats. I will get you out as early as we can measuring the depth at the dock I will know if it is above normal. I'm not really concerned I was hoping you could run the boat on the flats the water is usually 5-6 minimum most of the time and it is a large area where you could get used to the boat before leaving. I say lets play it by ear, I will report conditions tomorrow afternoon when my wife and I get to the boat. One way or another I will get you out safely. The WX forecast looks crummy but I have seen them be totally wrong before. I can take you to the ICW but that isn't a great ride and to be honest I bump in a few spots drawing almost 4' when I first hit the throttles. Its boating so I say lets be safe and judge conditions once we are both there.

Bill

Yikes, 4' 10", what the hell is it, a sailboat? As far as I know the previous owner had nothing in the trunk.

Bill, I'm with you on the weather, better safe than sorry. If I gotta wait, well, so be it.

Looks like we might get there before 5 on Friday.

Dominic has a great setup behind his house, really nice guy Mike, once there you may never leave :)

I just checked the draft specs 4' on your boat Mike. I must not have measured from the real waterline. Mine is 3'6" and yours looks so much deeper strange.

Sure...we can get 50A 125/250V to the dock.

I just closed the pool last week, but the BBQ is still working and there are some cold Sam Adams in the fridge.....you've got my cell....don't hesitate to call with any issues. I'll have my vhf on and I'll scan 9,16,68 and 69. If you make it out accroding to plan A, give a shout when you get north of Barnegat Inlet...I'll hear you....

We only have dual 30 at out marina but I believe that an adapter was located on the boat Mike. Bill

My guess is it more like 53", like I said in another thread but I was quoted all sorts of stats that basically implied that I don't know anything about my own boat. I admit I have not measured it but I was told 53" I questioned it because it was hard to believe and I was again told 53". If your deeper than me stay away from SPBM. In fact you are going to have to be extra careful coming and going from Bowline I have touch twice but I have not tried Rommers markers yet. 5'10" sounds high but I have confidence in Bills knowledge and ability the use a tape measure. Be careful on your trip home and enjoy the ride. I sure you will love the boat what's not to love.

Dave, 4' 10', not 5' 10"

Bill can you check tomorrow on the smart Y, I know he had one, but I thought he was keeping it.

Dominic, got it

Why do you Trojan guys think your draft is different from one another???

Do you think they changed the molds of that boat or the weight of the motors is making the difference?

Jonathan, the manufacturers specs on mine say it draws 48" with the engines that I have in it.

Mike I think it was found in the boat? I will check with Rick he is honest. Your boats a monster! Great engines a wide beam and deep V looks like it could take rough water no sweat. Shoot me an e-mail with your number Mike I can't find it. I checked the specs with your engines as well. You could eat off the engines very clean.

Sorry that was a typo I know it's not 5'10". As per the difference from boat to boat they are supposed to be the same. My guess is it would have to be the motors and props but that shouldn't make such a difference. From year to year there is a difference in weight as well. It's not a competition (but if it were it looks like you win) I would be very happy to I only had a 36" draft. All I know is the boat handles like a dream, I'm not winning any races but that's not my concern. The 15' beam makes it comfortable inside and out if draft is the cost of comfort it's worth it. My wife and I were starting to lose interest in boating until we moved up to the Trojan, now we can't get enough of it. It is truly a second home to us. Knowing how much you used the last boat you may never go home again once you get on board. I'm looking forward to a tour to see the differences. Now that you're a Trojan man be sure to protect you shaft(s)!
