Hold n Treat installation question

I am installing a Purasan with the Hold n' Treat controls to empty my current holding tank.
My current installation is Vacu-Flush head which empties into the holding tank. My holding tank has the Sealand tankwatch 4 monitoring system which I would like to use to activate and run the Hold n' Treat controls.

Is the Sealand Tankwatch 4 compatiable with the Hold n' Treat control? If it is compatible, I will of course use my voltimeter to determine if it uses positive or ground switching sensors so that I connect it to the correct terminals. If someone has used the Sealand Tankwatch 4, did you find positive or ground switching?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, I have read all the previous Hold n' Treat thread and have found them most informative.

Gary,

You're really going to enjoy having the Hold n' Treat along with a Purasan. It's a great combination.

I received the order today, and I will start the installation tomorrow. At this time I am planning to use the TankWatch 4 sensors, I will post follow-up for others if I can get them to work.

I used Raritan's external tank sensors. They've worked well for that last 4 years.

On a related note, I just removed the charcoal holding tank filter. I've been using Raritan's KO and the tank no longer smells at all. The secret is KO plus plenty of O2. I didn't want to cut more holes in the boat so I invested $20 in an aquarium air pump and that seems to be doing the trick. It only runs when we have shore power or the generator running, but it works very well. Enough O2 seems to be in the tank for the "good" bacteria to live between power sources.
 
Just edited; I don't see why the SeaLand system 4 would not work. I just read the installation PDF and my Raritan Hold N Treat installation manual.

You can not parallel the sensor leads from the display and H-N-T blackbox controller. I found out the hard way it doesn't work and it is possible you will damage the transfer pump. However just use an additional Raritan sensor and foil for the H-N-T controls. You can't even use the same foil set, I ended up moving one set to the left (for the Raritan tank monitor) of the tank and one set to the right (for the H-N-T) and moving the tankwatch epoxy puck/sensor and installing the new sensor for the H-N-T control sensor. This assumes you have a Poly holding tank.
Now if the Sealand system uses plunger type switches you should be able to use it. If it is a capacitive type on the outside of the tank system like the Raritan tank monitor all the above applies.

I finished my installation today and all went well. For me I was able to use the Sealand Tankwatch 4, and it does work for me.

And yes, my system has 3 probes that extend into the tank, and uses float switches.
I am using the signal from the deepest probe float switch to turn off the Hold n Watch, and the midlevel probe float switch to activate it.

Each float switch has two wires to it. I determined which was the ground and which was the positive. I only used a wire spliced into the positive wire.

It took about 3 hours to complete emptying, but it automatically shut off as the float switched was tripped.

So, I guess I am glad I had the plunger type float switches.
