I seem to be having a problem getting the holding tank pumped out. After the tank has been pumped I check it and it is still full.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? The manual valve for pump out vs macerated overboard discharge is in the correct position. Or at least the handle is correct.

Had the same problem, the y-valve on mine failed. The flapper in the valve broke free from the handle and moved from the pump out position to the overboard discharge. I removed the valve since we are inland anyways.

make sure your vent line is not obstructed

That is a thought. How were you able to discover what was the problem with the valve?

I might just remove mine on general principals as I never intend to use it for overboard dump.

How do you check it? gauges are notorious for getting stuck.
the outlet line could also be plugged especially if the boat has been sitting.

I have decided that I am just going to bypass the "y" valve by using a piece of PVC in place of the valve. This was it can be easily returned to original shape when/if desired. This way I can also run an auger line down into the tank and be sure the line is clear.

I determined that the holding tank was full by removing the discharge line from the top of the tank and using a dip stick. Had a piece of dry reed on the shore and that made a good dip stick.

I suspected it it after I turned the y valve handle but didn't find what I expected from a resistance stand point, as if there was no movement inside the valve.

Listen at the vent while you are pumping out, you should hear the air entering the tank.

how often do you pump out? If you let it sit long enough everything will settle and not come out. Did you try and fill it with water after the pump out and pump it out again?
