I'm going to be installing electric or pneumatic sending units in the waste and water tanks on my boat because I can't access the tank sides for the foil-type sensors without removing the tanks themselves.

The waste tank shouldn't be a problem since it has a 5 bolt pattern threaded, sealed port on top. I'm guessing I just punch out the hole, insert the sending unit and twist it into the threads.

The water tank, on the other hand, has no port to use. The sending units come in 1.5" threaded npt style or the 5 bolt pattern style (flanged or twist in).

What do I need to install on the water tank to accept one of the senders? How does it get installed and how difficult will it be?

fwiw: I think Snake River has/had a PVC tube w/ a foil sensor on the inside that could be placed into waste tanks from the top...

Don't know about the rest. Sorry.

I'd think you could also do it with one of the Holding Tank fittings relocation kits that are available at many marine distributors.
