I tried to pump out the poop tank this weekend and am having some issues - started sucking with no success, realized there was a kink in the hose leading from the tank to the outlet, fixed the kink and got a little more to suck out. When it stopped tried to fill with water to flush but only took about 1 to 2 gallons of water. tried to suck out again, but just pulled some water and then nothing again. The tank is 17 gallons so im guessing either something is clogged or whoever owned the boat before neglected to pump it out and i may have someone elses crap fossilized in the tank.
Ok - after the long story... anyone have any suggestions of cleaning this out, what to use and what not to use, or how to just suck it all out????

On my old 1991 S/R 310DA...there was a "Y" valve that had to be rotated from the " head " position to the " pumpout " position ....before I could pumpout the holding tank. It was a pain in the ass to climb into the engine room to operate that valve every time.

Maybe check your plumbing for some type of a valve ?? If not....I agree with Bill...remove the vent line filter...so you get air into the tank.

You guys are my hero! - traced the vent hose under the aft cabin, its kinked... so some hose clamps should do the trick!

Many Thanks!!!

Thats 2 kinked hoses are you sure the tank is properly secured and isn't moving around?

Thanks for the idea... the tank is secure, it was just the way the vent hose was ran it was too long for its turn to the thru-hull, and the outlet house was pushed behind the charger... Both are fixed now, and thanks again for all your help!
