Got my first chartplotter, a used Garmin 182C, and I'm anxious to try it out in the simulation mode.
I'd like to make use of this wintertime to try out it's features (a dream of future cruises!)
Is there a way I can connect the power cable to a power supply at home and use it without hardwiring it into the boat? Couldn't find a reference on the Garmin site, and the documentation is pretty sketchy about installation.
