In my present set-up, I have a 1 1/2 inch sanitation hose leading from my holding tank to my macerator pump intake port. There is a 1 inch hose attached to the 1 inch outlet port on the macerator from which the waste is pumped overboard. I am thinking about replacing my macerator pump with a diaphram-type waste pump. However, all models that I see have both a 1 1/2 inch intake port AND a 1 1/2 inch outlet port or both a 1 inch intake port AND a 1 inch outlet port. Without changing either my 1 inch discharge hose or my 1 1/2 inch intake hose, is there some sort of fitting or adaptor that I can use to increase or decrease the end of one of my hoses in order to allow it to fit on a new pump? Thanks in advance for any info or suggestions.

Sure. Any decently stocked plumbing supply store or large box hardware superstore. It's only when you need metrics that it gets "hairy".

Tom, the diaphragm-type waste pumps do not macerate the waste, they just move it. So I can't recommend reducing the output line from the pump from 1½" to 1" - there's just too much chance for a clog. If you want to go with the diaphragm pump, it would be best to put in a 1½" through-hull fitting and run the correct 1½" I.D. hose to it. It's more involved, and more expensive, but you'll be avoiding a number of potential headaches. The diaphragm-type waste pumps are much more reliable and trouble-free than the conventional rubber impeller macerator pumps.
