Any Hotels or B&Bs near the Sassafras or Georgetown? We were wondering what to do when family and friends come to visit us on the boat but dont have a place to stay. We live close to 2 hours away...

The nearest hotel would be the Hampton Inn in Middletown. It is about 15-20 minutes from Skipjack. It is on the corner of rt.301 and 299.
Can't miss it.

Julian, try the Kitty Knight House, I believe they have rooms above the restaurant. Jerry

Kitty House is still closed. Several times recently we've used the Hampton that Craig recommended. Its new, clean, has an indoor pool and is close to several restaurants. We'd recommend it as well. When/if the Kitty reopens as a B&B that will be the best choice but you'll need reservations well in advance

You can also stay in Chesapeake City which is 15 miles straight up Rt213....roughly the same distance to Middletown. There are about a half dozen nice ones, Ship Watch, Blue Max, etc. www.chesapeakecity.com (of course I'm biased because I live there in the big white Federal next to the BlueMax)

You could try the B&B web site www.bbonline.com/md/ They have a whole section devoted to the eastern shore. I have used it in the past for B&B in Virginia and found that they had good coverage of most of the B&Bs

Yep, forgot about Chesapeake City B&B's. Great choices in a great town!

Also the Comfort Inn in Chestertown. Spent a good deal of time there while house was being built. Also, there are a few pepole who own several homes in Kentmore Park and will rent them for weekends or weeks. If you need any information or a contact, let me know.

I believe that Betterton has at least one B&B and if weather is calm you could anchor off.

Does it figure that my daughters 1st birthday falls on Canal day weekend. Im screwed..lol
Maybe ill just buy blow up mattress and let friends sleep along C dock

Our friendly marina manager will definitely put you on his list. :)

Julian,

Sounds like you are going to have one big party! The new Hampton is nice and has an indoor pool too.

Julian, The Hampton Inn sounds like a great spot. My only concern is "you may need a bigger boat"

Julian,
You can actually have the Hampton set-up a Pool Party for you if you like.

In Chesapeake City, the admiral and I have stayed at the ShipWatch Inn in the past. Not a bad place.
