Went up to the boat today, it was windy as hell up there. Good news is that I'll have a new canvas this season.

Lost a big tree today and some siding, big gusts here today

It was pretty nasty at the boat I was there too. I'm about to order two additional supports for the swim platform I was up there taking measurements when I got home I realized that I need to go back for a few more measurements. It's so cold outside I'm not rushing up there this morning but I need to get this done. Hogan what was wrong with your canvas? It looked good to me. Who are you using and can you give a ball park number for what you are doing. I hoping to get a couple more years out of mine but I need to plan for it.

Walter I lost a large tree limb, size of a mid size tree earlier this season, it landed on my kids trampoline and crushed it. I cut up what I could but my chainsaw has seen better days so I will have to rent one to complete the job major PITA. My kid although she is turning 15 was a bit heart broken about the trampoline, she felt like she lost a piece of her childhood, sad.

went to the marina today and saw this....i'd be pretty pissed if that were my boat.

that's what happens when you block a boat on grass and don't put anything under the blocks/stands to distribute the weight. I wouldn't be surprised if the ones on each side were next to go.

So who is responsible for blocking the boats?..The Marina or the Boat Owner?..
I bring mine home and block it myself, and I put 3/4 inch plywood under the blocks..

dashizzzkat I took the same picture today were you in a silver pickup I think I may have been right behind you.

Hank welcome back where have you been?

Even if it's not a customers boat it doesn't look good I think they should correct it asap.
I didn't see any damage but there were no front jack stands to keep it in place.

I always heard that using cement blocks was not good. Probably not the reason here but looks like a freeze / thaw situation and nobody checked the jack stands.

Cement blocks are fine, don't use cinder blocks, they break apart.

Below is my post from the Chesapeake forum from this past weekend. We went out for 2 nights. It was great (we stayed tied up tied on Saturday, of course). But I had to make a 100 mile round trip today to put my 2x4's back up as we're getting 5-8 inches of sleet/snow tonight. That was NOT in the forecast when I left the boat yesterday.

I didn't see any sigh of front jack stands two sets of blocks front and rear and stands only in the rear. From what I could see the front blocks sank in the grass and the boat slid to the side and forward it did little to no damage that I could see. I don't think the blocks cracked but I could be wrong.
