The admiral and I will be going up river tonight, and staying north of the GWB. We will then do a quick haul and bottom cleaning Saturday AM at Monty's. After that, looks like a day up at Croton or maybe up to West Point, not sure.

Saturday on the hook again.

Sunday, friends are having a BBQ in Ossining. I just called and spoke to Dennis, the dockmaster, at Westerly. He seems like a very nice guy and the day rate is very reasonable. So that being the case, I was planning on docking for a few hours on Sunday for the BBQ, then heading home.

So my long winded question is, is Westerly a decent place to put the boat up for a few hours? Any issues with draft, (3 ft.) or patrons, wake, anything like that?

Thanks for any info

Low tide there might be a problem, the whole bay is shallow at low tide.

thanks for the heads up on the tide. should be OK, we are coming in around 1, which will be mid tide.

I am actually up river right now. Sitting on the hook for the last two hours or so, just north of the GWB.

Had a boarding by NJ State police and Coasties. All is well, they were very friendly and efficient. Seems like this weekend may be a training weekend.

So a little has changed, we are still doing the haul Saturday, but the BBQ is Saturday instead of Sunday. NBD. Just gives us all day Sunday to enjoy.

Got the bottom cleaned and zincs installed. Monty's did a great job.

Got some fuel, and when leaving from the dock, amazed the dock mate when we pulled away using a line to lever off of and did not need him to manhandle the boat. Best part was, the admiral was at the helm.

Headed up to Croton, where we swam, ate, napped and watched a movie.

BBQ got canceled, but we don't care. It is a great weekend.

Some poor guy got stuck on the rocks at Croton, but SeaTow took care of him.

Probably going to spend this evening here at Croton, and head out tomorrow after a nice breakfast.
