how long from GWB to Lake Champlain

Thanks Guys. Yeah, Michael, I will look at that.

I have to see which chart I have. Mine ends right at Croton.

So I needed a tender. So I found one on the Navasink. So I took a trip down, bought it, loaded it on the back of the boat, and went home. So now I need Davits. Of course, I did not check the chip I have.

What kind did you get? What engine? How did the boat perform with the extra weight on the swim platform?

I did nto notice it at all. No change in GPH. It has a 6 HP Engine and is an avon

One of my friends has a set of St. Croix davits he bought and never installed. I don't know if they are what you are looking for, but perhaps they could be a good fit. Another friend has St. Croix davits mounted on his swim platform and loves them...

With a six hp if the dink is a roll up deal, don't let the davits get in your way. You won't need the dink while on the river or the canal system unless it provides some entertainment. Bring a small shop vac to inflate and deflate it. Presumably you have a genny.
By the way make sure you have binoculars for picking out markers on the lower lake heading north prior to the bridge. It's been many years since we made the trip but we were glad we had them whenever we did the tour.

Pete,

I def want a davit system, and need it asap, so maybe we can work somethign out.

Well, we ended up with the Nautly Dinghy Ramp XL. Happy with it. Seems well made and was very easy to install.

I type this sitting on the baot, ready to leave tomorrow AM. Very excited about the trip, and the family is looking forward.

Naturally, I did not get the right chip nor the cruising guide. I did pick up the paper charts, however. I now have a chip that will take me up the the locks, and hope to be able to buy teh chip I need up river, as well as the cruising guide. If I can not find the chip, I will use the paper charts.

Thanks to everyone who provided input. We will be playing it by ear, and staying out on the hook a lot. I will try to post every day here.

Tomorrow looks to be rainy and slow going, but w/e.

Pete, did you ever get my PM??? I would like some info about the davits, I might be interested. PM me back!!!

Oops, sorry Mike. I thought I had responded to you. I'll send the info asap...

Just wanted to thank everyone again for the ideas and help. I have been posting my progress in the Meridian forums, under the title "Seriously considering a 391" or somethign like that.
