Hi,
I am replacing my manifolds, risers, and elbows (Osco)on my Chrysler 440 magnum motors. My shop manual is very schetchy about how tight to make the bolts. I am also putting on new oil pan gaskets and valve cover gaskets and the manual does not say how tight to make them. It looks like they are saying 30 lbs. on the exhaust manifolds, but say nothing about risers and elbows. The manual also says 40 lbs. on "cylinder head covers",but I am not sure if they are refering to "valve covers" (seems a little tight?).
While I am at it....Is it O.K. to leave the Osco primer on the elbow swivel joints where the rubber O-rings go? I stripped and taped off all other mating surfaces for gaskets.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Ed
