How's the fishing on the river ?

i'm hearing several folks are caughting fish on the hudson river this season early on. Can anyone add to this rumor ( please don't respond if you are one of those guys who hang out in bowline all day and order out) looking for a real fishing crew to respond to this quest for knowledge
 
Knot on call sent me a picture of a fish he caught. Maybe you should ask him :)
 
Hey, you are one of those who hangs out in bowline, or did you forget. Ask Pocketchange, he goes out all the time.

I saw that fish too John. Did you see the new fish he caught? It looked like a pucker fish.
 
Since when did relentless become the great fisherman??? I thought all he ate was eggs?

Can you post it? I didn't know knot on call was a fisherman.

I'd rather not post the picture on a public forum. Not sure he has a license yet!

You should ask him the next time you see him at the marina.

Pocket Change isn't out yet. Boat is all serviced and ready to go fishing. It's chomping at the bit. This weekend looks to be too cold and windy to go in the slip. I'll have to wait 'til next week. Sunday I was in Nyack. While my wife was in the stores I went down to the river. The guys there had a 20" striper in the cooler and got another nice one while I was there. I can't wait especially after bad fishing in Florida this winter due to the cold water and cold weather.

I talked to the boat at our marina that is in and they have been catching fish all week. All in 20" range. Sounds like its starting...
 
Hopefully the boat will be launched next week so I can get some fishing in on Easter weekend. (That means all the fish will leave the river and especially around my boat - I checked the bottom of the boat and there is no signs that say "Fish Stay Away").

Anyone entering the tournament on the 17th weekend out of Haverstraw?
 
Went out yesterday. Down by the Tap there was no one else there (1 catfish). Moved up to South Croton and had ~5 shorts and 1 possible keeper we thew back. It was great to be on the water fishing.
 
relentless, how has the fishing been for you? Any hot spots or tips you'd care to share with us??
 
He's fishing at the shore this weekend Hogan. I heard he caught a couple of fish wearing winter parkas. IT'S COLD DOWN THERE!!!!!
 
Not many boats out fishing today, I didn't mark too many fish on my fishfinder but I'm sure they are out there.
 
Relentless must have caught all the fish in the river!
