Hwy 12 Closure Week of 5/14..............

Hwy 12 will be closed from 7AM to 4PM between I-5 and Rio Vista for emergency maintenance. I tried to find info on the CalTrans website, but this is not listed. I listened to the details Friday while drive Hwy 12 on 1610AM. Using Hwy 12 next week may cause serious delays.

If anyone has more/better information, please post it here!

Yeah, I saw the Caltrans road sign on 12 this weekend. Drove past it it twice and never got to read all of the message though because the sign scrolls so slow. The 1610 AM radio signal wasn't working, either. Thanks for the post.

The road closure is just as Flutterby announced. 5/14 - 5/17 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. According to a worker at "The Outrigger" where we are berthed, it will be the same type of roadwork that they performed last year. The detour will be 160 through Walnut Grove to Rio Vista. A little longer, but doable. I heard also that no big trucks were allowed on detour, but don't know if that is reliable information.

So now I'm confused (not that it matters to me) but is 12 open or closed today, Monday, 5/14?

I think it is open today. I'm going to the boat on Thursday and normally take Hwy 12 to Bethel Island, so I'm glad I heard about this or I would have been stuck in that fiasco! Guess I'll take the Hwy 4 route instead.
