I give up trying to keep the boat all covered up and protected from the sun.

The Cover IS Off!

The cleaning has begun...

Cleaned the entire hull up to the rub rail with Buff Magic (that stuff really works!) and got a coat of polish on the same area. The hull looks great.

Off tomorrow for Easter, then back on Monday for some more cleaning and polishing. Still looking like a Tuesday launch!

Mike I don't know how you did it. That was a lot of work. I will be Painting and starting the Buff Magic in the morning I hope I get half as far as you. I usually have the whole marina to myself on Easter no distractions to slow me down.

Rommer when are you making the big trip up north to your slip?

I started at 9 AM and worked straight through. Tim got there around noon and started polishing the area that I had cleaned. We worked almost non-stop, except for a short lunch break.

My arms, shoulders and back are killing me, but we got the majority of the work done today.

I gotta thank Jonathan and Bob for moral support and tips on doing the job right, and for Jonathan taking the buffer by the horns and chippin in to help me!

I'm glad you got through it, I wish Jonathan would come help me tomorrow. I sure he just wanted to made sure that you spent the time it takes to do it right. When I finished last year it was a great feeling of satisfaction seeing how good it come out was something to be proud of. I"m sure yours looks great I'll see it tomorrow and have a benchmark to strive for.

Dave, if you see any spots that I missed, feel free to fix them up...

No wrong Bob (Starry Night) Bob just be change all three Trojans in the area are dry docked within a few feet of eachother this winter. It has made my live easy getting measurements for a new swimplatform.

So what was Gina doing, wasnt she there waxing with you?

Butch, you are one funny guy!!!

Hopefully, I'll be back in my slip on Tuesday.

My arms are sore an I did a fraction of the buffing that you did Mike!

If you see any areas that you missed, go back and do them now, you'll be happy in July looking at an even uniform hull.

Also have Tim try to apply the Starbrite polish by hand and then use the machine to buff it off. You be surprised how well putting polish/wax by hand works!

I've got a trip down the river today to bring the Center Console back to her slip.

Hope I can dodge all the wood in the water.

Thanks Rommer for the steering fluid, I'll let you know how it works out.

Hope it solves the issue Jonathan. Have a save trip downriver.

Dave, no idea when I'll be moving. Still have a lot of cleaning to do. Maybe next weekend. Haven't bother to start the engines but the water tanks are full, the hot water is hot and the AC units make heat on demand. Spent Thursday and Friday on the boat so officially for us the season is has started.

I figure I can get half the boat buffed and rejexed where it is and do the other side in the northern slip since the fingers are on opposite sides. Had some unexpected canvas problems putting up the bridge canvas which also set me back. Luckily I have a Sailrite machine and was able to resew the zipper stitching that let go. Trust me thou, when we get the 90 degree weekend this month Wake-N-Waves will be out there.

I think I set too high of a goal for today. I thought I would put one coat of bottom paint and start buffing, I barely finished the one coat of paint. It's a lot of work using a hard first coat it's thick and doesn't roll and cover easy. I found a few loose spots as I was painting now I will have to go back and scrap then sand those spots and touch up before I do the next coat. Isn't boating fun. I'm determined to get this right this time. I still have two weeks until the platform gets here some I'm in no rush.

It was a great day at the yard today I hope this weather continues!

Got the Center Console safely down the river, had to dodge some wood but the ride was great, flat and warm.

Re-commissioned Robyn's Nest today, motors, gen, A/C, heads, water system are all set, winterized perfectly, ready to go.

Just have to get the cover off and the outriggers up and we are all set to leave the dock.

John, the steering is AOK now, thanks for the steering fluid and tube, worked great. I'll swing up north and drop it off. Thanks again.

Dave, if the paint is too thick, add in some Petit 120 thinner, it will help it go on smooth and flowing. Interlux makes it too.

Hope this round of painting works out ok for you.

I don't think that it was too thick it was just thicker than the ablative paint I used last year. I needed every bit of two gallons to paint the bottom last year I was able to cover with just over a gallon to a 1.5 gallons. I hope this time it sticks as well.

I'm glad to hear you made it back safely. Be sure to stop by and say hello if you find yourself in the area.

I'd be concerned with where the fluid went. On my system a dollar gasket solved the issue. The fluid doesn't evaporate so you should check for a leak somewhere.

Almost time to head back up and finish getting the hull ready, touch-up bottom paint and prep to launch!

If they where not hurting this morning they will be tonight, he spent another day working on the boat and the work has paid off the boat looks great. Best of luck with the launch tomorrow.
