After Labor day I always feel like the count down begins to the end of the season:(

I was hoping some of you might share future travel plans that you still have for this season maybe this will at least make it feel like there is still plenty of time left in the season.

I'm hoping to go for one last weekend trip to Kingston, but I'm not sure of the conditions there.

Dave consider yourself lucky. Thanks to Irene some people in Saugerties have been told to pull their boats, the season is over.

Post labor day was always our favorite because of the reduced traffic on the river and the Fall colors in the valley. The Rondout is muddy loooking but even with this last rain, I don't percieve large amounts of debris on the creek. Not sure about the river.
The restaurants are open, the city has cleaned up well enough and the RYB has removed tons of mud! It may not be perfect but it's a long way from where it was the day after the flood. I'd give it a chance if the debris on the river was within reason.

Dan that is good to hear. The bad news is that there is so much junk in the river down near Stony Point that most people are not going out. I would love to get a trip in before the end of the year to RYB but I need to be sure the river is clean enough... Mybe with some luck we will see you and Deb before we haul out...

I hear ya, Dave. This year it seems particularly depressing - not being able to go on/in the water for the labor day weekend really sucked. Then yesterday, everyone packed up early and went home by noon... What's the point of a 3 day weekend when you blow off the third day?

Our trips for the season are over, two weeks to Montauk, Block and Newport - and a long weekend to the NJ shore burned enough fuel for us! Gotta admit, the weather was great for both trips.

Time to start thinking about next summer's trip... Until then, we've got 8 more weekends on the boat!

Some good news. The kids fishing off G dock at SPBM caught a striper this weekend. Maybe we can salvage the season after all.

I'm headed to Roundout Saturday if all goes well. This will be my last trip of the season. It may be slow going until I'm a little more comforatble with the obstacle course but it should be an interesting dinghy ride through the creek looking at the remnants from the storm. I also could not believe that SPBM was empty on Monday. Save for a couple of leftovers from Sunday night.

Hank, when we drove Giggity past your boat early Monday afternoon, it was all buttoned up! Saw the kayaks on the fingers.

We left for awhile and came back. I was pretty boring with no one around and stuck in the slip. We did stop over ur marina in my new dingy on Sunday but I think you were up on land with some friends. I finally took a knife to the old one. Got tired of chasing leaks. I looked like Chuckie going after it.

That would certainly be good. Perhaps with the latest rain the debris will move on quickly.
