Flutterby,
I am going to a bit of cruising next month in and around Bethel Island. Are most of the eateries ( I cannot spell restuarant for the life of me)and bars open around there. Places like the Rusty Porthole, Sugar Barge etc. What are some of your favorite places to dine. Thanks

Thanks for the link. Our waterski club does a Freeze-out tournament on News Years Day at Lake Nacimento every year. I have missed the last two and seeing the video brings back many memories. Not the really cold water but being on the water with good friends. However, Palm Springs where we have gone the last two years has been pretty nice but no boating which is not good. One of these years I should make it up to the Frozen Bun Run.

I did the penguin 11 years in a row when it used to be in berkely at aquatic park, I also did the February freeze if anyone remembers that. Still great to whatch but i sure am glad that others are doing it and I dont shiver all day new years day.

"Wintertime it tough on the Bethel Island eateries. I suggest that you call first to confirm their hours and if they serving food or just the bar.
My favorite restaurant [I use spell check!] is downtown: Marshall's Bistro is on Bethel Island Road. It is within walking distance of the SJ Yacht Club docks. The food is to die for and portions are generous. The service is excellent!

Yes I am, but I can't make the crab feed this year. boo hoo. Were you there last year? I was and visited with some of your club members prior to the dinner. Have a great time and think of me as you are "stuffing" down all that delicious crab meat!!!
