OK, I think I know what I'm doing, but I want to make sure. I have a 18' Chaparral with an inboard 4 cyl motor and an Alpha 1 outdrive. I'm going to store the boat in a climate controlled underground storage facility, but I want to make sure I have the steps down before I put it into storage. Here's what I'm planning to do:
- Clean all interior vinyl good.
- Add fuel stabilizer to gas.
- Remove spark plugs and put in old set.
- Fog engine with engine fog until it stalls.
- Remove battery and keep at house to be charged over winter. (Any tips on storing battery?)
- Open up all storage areas to allow for venting prior to cover going on.
- Place at least two "damp rid" containers in boat under cover.
Have I missed anything on storing my boat properly? If so, feel free to comment/help. Thanks.
