Vic,
I am working on an old Chris Craft that has a cockpit mounted Icer-ette. It freezes, and the tray moves the vanes from horizontal to vertical, but I get no ice. I didnt get any water into the mold, but i'm not sure if the solenoid valve is a problem or not because the water was shut off to the unit when I first went to inspect it.
I see on the Raritan site that the solenoid (134B) is available, but cant find the ice maker unit itself.

Paul, remove the lower grille and look inside on the left hand side - there should be a sticker there with the model number of the unit. Depending on the model number, I may be able to supply the necessary parts, or I may not. But I can hook you up with a source in either case (I think).

For general information purposes, since 1991, Raritan has been building their own icemakers and parts are readily available. But units built before 1991 were built by U-Line with the Raritan name on them, under a private labeling agreement that was in effect at the time. At the end of 1990, Raritan "divorced" from U-Line and began to build their own units. After 1997, Raritan stopped stocking parts for the older U-Line units. But U-Line is still in business and in most cases, can supply the necessary parts for the older units.

If you do have a U-Line unit, read this thread - it'll give you a little more insight on how they work:

Vic, didnt see the sticker, but then I was in a hurry and didnt look too hard. Is it in front of the cooling fins? I believe the unit is pre-1991. I will look more thoroughly tomorrow.

Yes, in front of the condenser fins, on the inside of the outer cabinet.

I found it. Right in front of my eyes and didnt see at first.

Model number BI45A
Serial: 45-56156

That's a U-Line-manufactured unit with the Raritan name on it. They built them for Raritan before the end of 1990.

Give U-Line a call for help, (800) 779-2547.
With a unit that old, it could be a failed water valve switch. This is a standard microswitch that is mounted on the back side of the metal plate where the gear is, etc. (after you've popped the cover off of the front of the ice mold assembly). At the upper right side you'll see a horizontal water level adjustment screw that is spring-loaded. The microswitch in question is on the exact opposite side of the metal plate. The plunger on the side of the switch sometimes "sticks" in the "on" position or the "off" position. The only cure for that is to replace the switch. You can get them at Radio Shack for about 5 bucks.

The other possibility is that the coil is burned out on the water valve. This is behind the lower grille, on the right side, where the water line connects. This can be ordered from U-Line, approx. 35 bucks. You can't get just the coil, you have to buy the whole valve.
