Haven't posted in a while but my 31 Carver has been for sale due to divorce/sep....hate that. So....she sold last week to a good friend who will take good care of her.

I hope to be back very shortly. Going to have some "boat down time" and kind of get the house some much needed attention :-).

Have a great safe summer.
 
Thankfully in my situation I get to keep the boat, she wants indemnification on the note
 
Been there, almost done that.

I kept the 22' Grady AND the payment book.

Sold her and bought the 33' Trojan International same year as the divorce.

Sold the 1979 Honda 750 and bought a '97 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500, full dress.

The dollar cost of these two upgrades was surprisingly small, however the wifeage gave me name "FUN BOY" and used it in a disparaging manner with the kids, who had me in their cellphones under the name "A$$hole"

Well, at least they used a capital "A"

Anything you do or say can quietly and subversively twisted into something evil by seemingly good, but vicious people with bad intent.

Been there, Done that.
Best move I ever made.
Dumped the lazy PITA for a younger model that works and makes income!
Divorce cost me a lot, $40K in legal fees plus half of my fortune at the time, which was not much.
Some advice.

- Settle it together if you can. If you get the lawyer's to battle it for you then the economics of what you get from that one item may not be worth it. I had a better deal with her before I got the attorney who got me a worse deal!

- Don't shoot the breeze with your attorney. They are not your friends and if you call for 5 minutes to ask for status or how their weekend was, they are billing you for 30 minutes minimum!

- Keep it friendly.

I didn't have a boat when I got divorced, that was a after divorce toy!
