Slept on boat last night. Woke up and had a hot cup of coffee. Sat there looking at the water thinking of the many perfect days on the water this season. Then reality set in so I defrosted freezer, pumped out head, put in Bio Bor Diesel Treatment and just when I thought I was ready to say good bye to her for the winter, i took her for one more ride. What a perfect day on the water. Just me, the sail boats and those fishermen that Rob loves so much.

Now I am thinking of keeping boat in the water in case there is another day like today. I know I am in denial! The season is over, right? I should just accept it. But, i am like an addict looking for one more perfect high. I need help, professional help. But, what a gorgeous day it was. Just one more fix, one more......

"You're not sick; you're in love!" And we all know how love can make us do things we would normally find to be very foolish. The forecast for the week is for temperatures in the 50s, chilly, but still fine cruising weather. Your only problems might be your marina and your insurance policy. Check that each of them allows you to be in the water after November 1. Other than that, enjoy the next weekend. You can then think about the one after that....but don't push your luck. Hy

I keep my boat in till 12/15 every year. There are always days to go out...just got to pick them.
Enjoy the quiet water...

Yesterday was nice. I took a solo ride with dog with my bridge canvas off.
But I came out yesterday.
Issue for me is water. They turn it off 11/15 so I like to be all buttoned up by then.
Plus you get one 60 degree day then today in 40's.

But enjoy it while you can. I got winter things to do.

If anyone is interested in extending their season but worried about freezing, there is a company called Boatsafe that make bilge heaters. They're automatic, ignition protected when hardwired into your shore power system and work great. I have one in my 36' Chris Craft and have left the boat in water all winter here without a problem.

Yesterday was awesome. Was supposed to take my silverton out of the water but it was so nice we spent the day canal hopping in the skiff. Ended the day by taking boat to tres palms in Babylon for dinner. Just a great day.

My new boat has 2 built in xantrex bilge heaters.
But I also have a large boat safe heater I will sell.
It Is the large one. I think it was $350 new.
Make offer.
