I am looking for either in water or rack storage in the Ft. LAuderdale area for a 20-24 foot center console. Are there individuals how would rent our a slip at there homes resonable? What is the cost for rack storage? Any help?

An arm and a leg...And if you're lucky to find a place.
I would suggest you call every place in the area and the surroundings, find the ones that have space, visit them and make your choice. Then put your name on the list of the marinas you really like.
No cheap place around. You will be paying $280 to $350 for your boat in any dry rack in Ft Lauderdale.

When available the cost of pier space in New River is minimum of $300/mo. Most piers can handle upwards to 40-ft boats with ease. A person looking to find a place for a smaller boat doesn't get any preference in cost. There is a local rule of thumb of $8-10/ a foot for larger boats.

Does it help any if we were willing to drive an hour out of Lauderdale to get to the boat?

I am paying about $11.60 per foot (after taxes) for rack storage at Haulover. Not a great facility, but the proximity to ocean access and intracostal activities is tough to beat.

Check American Offshore and Thunderboat in the Dania Canal. Both have openings and operated by same company. My boat is at Thunderboat.

Consider the following drawbacks: American Offshore you have to deal with the bridge clearance, which is 7-10 feet depending on tide. Depends what top you have on your CC.

Also, it's 30-45 minutes to the ICW at idle speed. I have now gotten used to it, but it's something you may not like.

And there's also Harbor Town, also on the canal, but only 5-10 minutes from the ICW. Problem is they have a waiting list and rates are high.

Feel free to email any questions... estebanjnunezrb2@gr5tgmail.com

Ella B,
Is your rack covered at $11.60/pfoot?
I like the location a lot, but I have never asked because I thought it was expensive.

Try calling a boat broker...many of them also represent homeowners renting slips just like realtors manage rental property. I know a broker in Boca Raton/Delray that represents quite a few...call David Lash at Admiralty Yacht Sales in Delray Beach...561-330-9095...and tell him Eric Shepherd says "hi!"

Outside rack for that boat at Keystonepoint Marina is about $14/ft, but you're 12 minutes away from the ICW and a few more to the Haulover Inlet. 40 mins to Downtown, Miami with only a few minutes of no-wake. It should only take you about 12 to 15 minutes to drive to the marina from Ft Lauderdale, depending on where you are.

Shepdog, thanks for that number. I just moved to the Delray area and was going to start the search for dockage
