For something different this summer, I was thinking about taking a week to try some upstate NY lake boating; probably camping, or maybe a reasonably priced (hopefully under 200 per night) waterfront rental or hotel. I don't want to spend too much time in the car, so I was considering Oswego, Seneca or Cayuga Lake, or maybe Adirondacks - Scandaga, etc. Champlain is probably further than I want to go.
Just looking at a map, there are so many options that I'm not sure where to start. Anybody have any boating experience in these parts that they would like to share? Looking for places we can anchor/beach for swimming, waterfront restaurants are a nice plus, water skiing, tubing, all the usual stuff - not big on fishing though.
Coming from Philadelphia Area, towing a 23 foot bowrider that cruises around 30mph, and draws about 2 feet.
thanks.
