Inner Harbor vs. Annapolis?

The National Aquarium is a great stop don't miss it.

ESPN Zone is cool too.

Don't venture too many blocks out off the main tourist area unless you're looking to buy some crack!!!
 
I second (or third) the Inner Harbor East marina as a choice for docking in downtown Baltimore. We stay there every year when we venture down by boat(just an hour away for us). Some additional sites to see: Babe Ruth's birthplace (a couple of blocks northwest of stadium), B&O Railroad museum (you'll never see so many old trains refurbished) and a good 2 hour visit will be needed, water taxi out to Fort McHenry (be sure to see the film there) and the Science Center and Aquarium in the Inner harbor. I'm weary just thinking about all that walking.
 
I'm a little confused as to what marina is where so let me ask a few specific question.

How does the Baltimore Marine Center, http://www.baltimoremarinecenter.com/ rate in the locals opinion?

It has a pool which is important to our group but is it too far away from things?

How would one get from the marina to say the aquarium and other attractions in the area, foot, water taxi or car?

We have been at the Anchorage Marina which is next door to the Baltimore Marine Center for a couple of months. The local area is actually Canton which is next to Fells Point which is next to the Inner Harbor. Canton is very nice, eclectic, nice reseatuants, like Fells Point but more upscale waterfront warehouse condo conversions. We love it, nice skyline view at night. You cannot walk to the inner harbor but you can walk to Fells Point. You can easily dinhgy to the inner harbor, a bit of a ride in an inflattable but no problem with a 25 hp rib. Unlike Annapolis, they dont not have lots of easily accessible dinghy parking but that may not be a problem.

There is a water taxi stopping point, if I remember correctly, on the far side of the BMC, nearby. We have a couple of folding bikes and it is a nice waterfront boardwalk ride to the inner harbor from Canton, maybe a mile and a half.

BMC is nice too, but too far from downtown. Canton is neat, and as was posted earlier, there are plenty of good places to eat. But you'd need a water taxi for most of Baltimore's attractions. And the marina is pretty large, so sometimes you've got a heck of a walk to get anywhere. But they do have a pool and other nice things (like a West Marine and a Blockbuster). But I'm a die-hard fan of Inner Harbor East. Wes and I became friends because of how often in the early spring and late fall we'll boat there (about a 45 minute run for us). Everything I want to see and do is only a few blocks away too.

Were you able to get Cat 5 run from the office? Worst case, we'll have to do Comcast out of the old fuel shack.

No Cat 5 yet...the contractors are still finishing the interior up. I figured it will be about another week or so until the dust really settles. There is a lot of items to address before they turn the keys over to us.

They're really trying to get it right this time.
 
We made the walk from BMC to the downtown part of the Inner Harbor once.... its a longer walk then you would think with nothin much to see or do between the two points. Don't want to do that again.
