I purchased a washdown pump for my wife so she won't have to wash down the anchor and rode with a bucket anymore. I would like to install the pump under the forward V berth or right in the chain locker. I would like to run power right from the dc power panel and get the water from my de-activated macerator. The other issue is drilling through the forward deck to install a fitting.
Any thoughts or advice?

Maybe it's just a ??? of semantics, but I think of a "macerator" as the pump that is used to empty out a holding tank. I see you are in fresh water so maybe you are referring to something else.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing on our Carver 3207, especially since the Missouri River is also known as the Big Muddy. I was thinking of tee'ing off the galley sink under the cabinet, running it under the forward berth into the chain locker, but then I'm not sure how to get the hose fitting up on deck near the bow pulpit. Drilling the deck just gives me hives. Of course I'd rather do river water/sea water and not use the "house" fresh water supply pump and lines, but any other configuration to use sea water/river water is even more cumbersome. I do know I don't want any more mud in the chain locker or the windlass.

lobsta1...what I was trying to explain was that I have a de-activated macerator. I therefore have a thru hull fitting that is not being used. So instead of pumping out poop thru that thru hull, I would use it for the water intake.

Does anyone know where Carver installed the wash down pump if you ordered a boat with this option? The reason I ask is that I see brown wires in the circuit breaker panel that go from the area that would house the wash down circuit breaker. I think I will mount the pump beside the water heater under the dinette floor.

My 2001 356 has the washdown pump at the rear section of the engine compartment on the port side in the rectangular hatch under the short section of the couch. I just worked on mine yesterday, fixing the filter basket T joint. Hope that helps.
