The City and County of San Francisco Department of the Environment, the California Department of Boating and Waterways and the California Coastal Commissions' Boating Clean and Green program will be conducting a Dockwalking activity on Saturday, October 4th from 9 am to 2 p.m at South Beach Harbor in San Francisco located at The Embarcadero at Pier 40.
Driving Directions: http://southbeachharbor.com/directions_drive.html
We will be distributing the new San Francisco Bay Area Boater Kits including the new SF Bay Clean Boating Map to promote clean and safe boating. We will be setting up a canopy at the center east side of the building i n front of the boaters' bathrooms.
For those of you who are also Cost Guard Auxiliary, this is also a great opportunity for you to conduct vessel examinations in conjunction with our Dockwalking activity.
Parking Information: Parking will be free. The entrance to the parking lot is at the corner of 2nd and The Embarcadero. We will need to go to the Building office upstairs and get a parking pass.
For Public Transportation Options please check: http://southbeachharbor.com/directions_public.html
Please let me know if you can join us in this FUN event at an amazing location!
Remember: This is a great opportunity to talk to boaters about clean and safe boating practices, distribute boater kits, collect boater surveys for the WEST MARINE JACKET CONTEST and enjoy the beautiful Bay views. After the Dockwalking activity you can even visit the nearby attractions. A Day Full Of Fun!
Hopefully you can join us. Please email or contact me (vmatuk "at" coastal.ca.gov (415) 904-6905) if you are available to join us. We will send out more details about volunteer logistics when you sign up.
