I am looking at at new boat that has a 110v refridgerator and freezer. I want to be able to run these non-stop along with a coffee maker and microwave (used only a few minutes) from an inverter and bank of golf cart batteries. I want to be able to anchor out and NOT run the generator more than an hour or two twice a day (or enough time to recharge the batteries).

There is sketchy information about the units, but manufacturer quoted the fridge to use 333 kWh/year and the freezer to use 479 kWh per year. (total of 812 kWh per year). Is this enough information to go on or do I need to get more specific info from the mfg?

Can anyone help me with the calulation to tell me how much battery capacity I would need to run these beasts for a given amount of time?

Thanks,

Jeff
