Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping to get some answers.
At the Hartford boat show I bought a Stingray 195LR with the Carbuerated Volvo 4.3L 190hp standard. A buddy asked me why I didn't go for the EFI. The fuel injected 4.3L Volvo is rated at 225hp but only adds 4mph top end. We do ski and tube and all that good stuff so I am told we will see the difference in deep water starts, better fuel economy, better starting and my favorite, no carb rebuilds (kits) down the road. My old Stingray, (1989 176svb) although still running and owes me nothing, has had nothing but annoying carb problems for the last for years.
So, is it worth it to pay $1546 more now for the EFI upgrade in terms of performance and long-term dependability? I'm not one of these people whoe buys a new boat every fer years.
Thanks for the input.
