Is it Spring yet?

Why 3 gallons? One is all I ever needed.

If shaken properly 1.5 to do entire bottom I have done many coats over the years. I strip the entire bottom then did three barrier coats then one hard blue coats then two black coats. Since then I have painted the entire bottom twice the last few years I have only done touch up. Each of the full coats took 1.5 gallons of paint. If the paint isn't shaken just before you apply then it will be thick and will not go on smooth as well as require much more paint to cover.
I'm only planning to touch up again this year. I guess I know where to get some leftover paint:)

I have only painted the entire bottom one time. The other four years, I just did touch-up. I don't want the bottom paint to get too thick.

That is the beauty of ablative paint it wears off with use so it doesn't just build layers on top of layers. I painted a blue tell coat so when and where I see blue I touch up that area. This boat has held great however my first attempt was a failure I somehow got the timing wrong I sat and watched me clock to get it right but still got it wrong the second time things went well and I have been happy ever since.
If the weather holds I may start to do some work this week in the engine room.
