Do folks with trailered boats (in the area of Haverstraw) flush the cooling system and wash down the boat and trailer?

I was told by one marina worker that there isn't enough salt to be concerned.

Thanks

it's definitely not fresh -- if I remember correctly, it's brackish all teh way up to Newburgh. I'd flush.

Every year is a different. The salt line depends on how much rain we get. This year the salt line has moved south but it doesn't hurt to flush anyway.

I think you can find what the Coast Guard's definition is, but that may not be the best determinant of boat maintenance issues. Still, their commercial vessel inspection requirements differ based on whether a river is considered fresh or salt. In Jacksonville FL it's at the US17 bridge downtown. I found this for Hudson River

Flush anyway.

Very little salt in the river this year, we've had too much rain.

Didn't have any barnicles on my outdrive or swim platform supports this year. The hull was clean but I still flushed the motor and washed the trailer.

John, I think you ment to say North...

Why do you say that Leigh? As far as a I can tell the salt/fresh water line HAS moved south.
