Thankfully, that fact alone means that we do have some folks left in life with more sense than dollars.

Anyone stupid enough to buy it will find it impossible to navigate through all the red tape of Bay Area politics before anything gets built. It's been over 20 years since the earth quake and the bay bridge still is not done. How long you think it will take for the three counties who have laid claim to it to agree on anything?

You'd need dynamite to clear the south end for access and the north end would continually shoal up, though you could beach a small boat there.

If you look at from water level it looks like a giant boob. The same would be said of the new owner.

If I were the current owner, I would just renege on the taxes and let it go into receivership then buy it back on my terms current and future or let the counties rot. Who is responsible for inland NOTAMS? The island would eventually sink from guano weight.
