After convincing our wives to let us do it, me and my buddy were supposed to take his boat to work today. We met at 6:15, cooler stocked, change of clothes, etc.

The river was glass but covered with fog and the humidity was unbearable. The DJ on the radio said it was "sprinkling in midtown" and the weatherman predicted thunderstorms likely this afternoon and evening with gusts of high winds. Another weatherman mentioned "damage driven winds".

OK, I know these weathermen suck so it better rain between 5-8pm, the time we would have been on the water!! Ultimately, it was the wind is what scared us off.

Sounds like a better idea for a Fri. anyway. Maybe the girls will give you credit and let you do it then if the weather is good.

Don't worry, we got dressed quick and jumped on the train, made it to work by 8am, will leave at 4:30pm, get the 4:45 train, be at boat by 5:45, we have 2.25hrs before our 8pm meeting tonight! Not the ideal plan but we'll be able to cruise for a bit, maybe checkout cannonball or WI for some grub!

First time I've ever heard anybody MAD that the sun was out!!!

I think you got lucky! It's like a frigin typhoon out there now.

I was at a meeting in midtown and around 5:45 I looked out the window and it looked like it was the middle of the night. I had to remind myself that it was still supposed to be daylight... It was pouring rain and thundering for quite a while, worked out for the best you skipped the trip.

Phew, we did make the right call in the long run...frustrating but prudent!
