It happens to the best of them

Eight foot long "crease" three feet deep in the bow seems like a little more than a bump.
Forward throttle instead of bowthruster???

I said get me some port not turn to port!!!!

Tug boat's fault, not the captain of the cruise ship.

A little bondo and some paint and all is good.

With the thrusters these days and pods that turn do they still use tugs to dock? I've watched them dock in Key West and Florida and don't recall seeing tugs.

IIRC the Pilot (tug operator) actually helps steer the boat into a port.

It'll be interesting to see if they dry dock it to clean it up. How many people want to be on a cruise boat with a crease in the bow?
So since this was a Carnival (circus) boat, does that mean Bozo was driving?

NY Harbor they are required to use tugs to come and go.

Probably some union deal.

Either that or some other regulation the CG has. You know like the one that has us get new flares all the time?

Now I don't feel so bad the next time I scrape my gel coat...
