It's been since 1955 that we had water like this. 26.82 and climbing.

RYB fine.

Other marinas look ok.

Only sailboats floating away unattended. Ya think?

BTW Poughkeepsie broke their record by a foot and it's still going up.

My sister is in Newport, she said she drove around, and the only boats that were broken loose were sailboats.

That water height is actually terrible news. Hate to hear of record anything pertinaing to water... According to hamweather, the crest is over on the Rondout. What a disaster.

On a side note I drove up/down 9W from Cornwall (as far as I could get) to Rt 303... what a mess! Looks like the Military is also out in force. They were stopped directing traffic below Bear Mountain. I wonder if the Gov called them in?

I dunno Mark, I'm thinking 27 might happen.

I think that's gonna be it... NOAA shows it as receding....

Water level has been dropping. I'll be spending the night at Roundout Yacht Basin in hopes of getting out of here tomorrow. Pretty ugly. Lots of damage too the docks but things are still holding together. But WHAT a current!

Forgot to mention it took about 6 hours to get here from my house, a normal 2 hour run. LOTS of road closures and flooded highways. I sure do love GPS though, keep trying different ways until I found something that worked.

Glad u made it, John. Mark gave up after 2 hours of frustration. The creek is nasty, I just hope its goin down. .

Yea, got to my last route/reroute on my GPS and then had to give up. I am trying to get there this morning. I am traveling from NE NJ and I usually go up PIP and/or Thruway but I am sure PIP is closed after 15. Thruway could be open and I am checking on that shortly....

Just got back from RYB and 9W would be your best bet Mark. 9W is def. open from Stony Point north so PIP to exit 15 ----> 210 to 9w.

Thurway is out until exit 17 so you could route up 17/17M to 84 east then grab the Thurway.

John, talk about a long route...i ended up going 87 east to 684 north, to 84 west to 9w... i wish i had seen your post! fwiw, i did go home 9W thru Cornwall and it was open, but that bridge which spans the river has giant trees pushing against it! I cant see how that is safe, yet the road is open. I am not just talking a few trees... i am talking a log jam hundreds of feet back. amazing devastation.

I saw the log jam your talking about Mark. It really is scary looking!

The good news is the Thruway is reopened in both directions now. Just have to decide if I should go move the boat today or wait another day for things to subside more.
