I just made my first official boating related purchase of the season. A fishfinder I needed for the new to me boat. Feels good. Means the season is just around the corner. Come to think of it, I titled the subject "it's started already", but does it ever really end!! Spending money on boats that is. Anyway, can't wait until I hear the sound of a travel lift lowering a Chris Craft onto the Great South Bay.

For this season, I've made the following purchases: new boat, dinghy, davit, radar... still need: genny, security system and tv.

This season is gonna be pricey!

Yup.......my mechanic was over Sat. to take the lower unit, change the water pump, gear oil, etc. Also found the steering went so he'll order the piece for that too. I have to buy bottom paint this week and will do the little boat myself since it's blocked in the yard. He'll do the Trophy as it has to come off the trailer to be painted. He also advised me to buy bottom paint now and not wait. Rumor has it they may stop selling at local retailers due to new pesticide laws. Has anyone else heard this?

Had a meeting at the yard to assess the work performed and yet to be done.

This is like putting a 3rd kid through school.

Should be wet in a month or so.

U can say that again..... must be nice to just make up numbers and mail an invoice....

I went to the boat yard on Saturday...the smell and sound of a boat yard in early (really early) spring never changes. My first purchase will be a new life jacket and inflatable vest. My older ones are several years old and seem to fit a little tighter this season!

Adam

Adam,
I just purchased the mustang hydostatic PFD's

Check em out ... ( i got tired of replacing the bobins every year )

Rob

There must be something wrong with me. All I bought for the boat this year so far is a case of wine (not a beer drinker), a case of doritos and a case of salsa dip.
Did I do something wrong??

YEah, I can't wait to get the boat in the water! I just purchased the Garmin 3206, to replace my stolen Northstar 952X. Now I have to find someone to install it. Any suggestions? Boat is in the Anchorage.

You should do it your self, very simple. If you like I could show you what to do.

Walter

I agree with walter. Very simple to do. Also a good excuse to spend an afternoon on the boat.
