We boat mostly North of Annapolis when we want to swim.

As of 7/14 there were no jellies at Dobbins Is in the Magothy.

July 4 at Cambridge Hyatt, there were some jellies-- but not bad at all.

Anyone know what Chester R. and Corsica look like? St. Michael's?

Thanks,

Tom

Reports I've heard from Chester is that, like Cambridge, there are some. However, we boated to Kent Island off the Chester today and I haven't seen any. Of course, I didn't swim to check it out! :-)

Try this link too:

It's just a computer model that goes off water temperature and salinity, but it helps.

None in Still Pond... never saw any in the creek.

The Sassafras River is jelly free, but the water temp. yesterday was 91 east of the 213 bridge.

It's pretty rare for the nettles to get north of Fairlee, if they make it that far. And they can't make it far into the Sassafras as there's not enough salinity. Note: I did see some today in Rock Creek (how they can live in that water is a mystery to me).

It's a shame as I'd love to anchor more further south. But one does need to take a dip to cool off now and again in the summer and those little buggers just ruin it. Granted, I've got some stuff onboard that's supposed to make it impossible for them to sting through it (people in FL use it), but I'm not brave enough to test it! :-)

We had quite a bit of them in the inner harbor last year. I have not seen any this year though.

Knapps Narrows on 8/3 and 8/4 the nettles were plentiful. 8/5 at Still Pond there were none.

I was at Patuxent River last week which was absolutely full of jelly fish.

7/27-7/29 - None seen (or felt) tucked up near the horse farm off the Magothy. I was wearing this which is supposed to prevent stings, but I also didn't see any.

Thanks all for the updates. As all of you have stated, North on Annapolis no jellies.....South of Annapolis you take your chances.

As such, we generally boat in Magothy, Fairlee, etc. where we just don't have to deal with them.

Thanks Kurt for the info.
