jersey destinations

Hi all,

Looking for information, We are going away the last week of july into aug.

We have reservations in LBI but are looking for something else. We were originally going to go to AC but Trumps is booked for that time frame.

So, is there any place near max 50 miles south from LBI that you might recommend for a first stop. We are 4 boats 8 adults and 8 kids 5-14 yo. must have pool beach access a plus. good dining preferred.

This is our 1st venture south, therefore we are rookies in the Jersey area.

I've always liked the Margate / Ocean City / Sea Isle City / Avalon / Stone Harbor area. It is mostly a family oriented area so there will be stuff for the kids to do. Some areas will have the college kid / summer rentals, but it never gets too bad. I've never boated there, but have always found decent places to stay and decent places to eat. Docking on the bay and walking to the beach on those barrier islands shouldn't be more than 3/4 mile.

Pete, look into Gardner's Basin which is across from Trumps. Lower cost but will need car or cab for transportation. I don't think jitneys go there.
