Bob, you got some pretty good responses to your 3560 question, about all I can do is confirm the responses. I had a 2005 3560IB (8.1L GI's), the boat handled great however a little to much bow rise when cruising to suit me, unless running up in the 4000+ RPM range. You'll love the way the inboards handle around the dock but I suspect that you won't be happy with the fuel burn, expect .5 to .8 mpg cruising as compared to 1.2-1.5 mpg from the same boat equipped with OD's.
Like stated above, if you boat in salt water I would suggest either IB's or the osxi OD's, in fresh water either of the OD systems would be a good choice. For resale the osxi,s (in my opinion) would be more appealing for salt water boaters.
The DTS controls are only available on Mercs so that may sway your choice. However, have you heard of the HelmView system. It's a color monitor/system that can be interfaced to the Volvo Penta MPI engines and will display virtually all engine data, including trouble codes, outdrive position, fuel usage, etc. It's not DTS but it sounds like a great addition to any boat.
Good Luck with you choice, the 3560 in my favorite boat in this size range.
