I'm up in Fairbanks, AK visiting my son for a while...we managed to get in one last trip last Saturday before the snow started on Sunday.

Went Pike Fishing on Minto Flats with a local guide...we went one for one, each catching three decent sized pike in spite of the rain, 38 degree air, and 46 degree water.

I taught this kid how to fish when he was little, and since he hit his teens he has been schooling the old man...

At the end of the day, he ended up one up on me...but we're having a debate over whether his last catch should count...I contend that the catch should at least be larger than the lure!

As long as you can still throw him in the lake you get final word.

btw— if you “lip” the pike they won’t slip out of your grasp.🤔🤔🤔🤔😁

We certainly timed it well...temps dropped well below freezing on Sunday and have stayed there since so most still water is freezing over already. It has also snowed almost every day.

What??? I thought that was the perfect Nee weather!

It absolutely is...I'm loving it up here!

But it's a bit tough to navigate the water when it is no longer liquid...at least until it freezes solid enough to walk on.
