Hello all,
Purchased a 1992 Bayliner 1950 and I'm having a bit of a dilemma on what kind of cover to buy for it..
The boat has an open bow. Here are the covers that are coming with the boat:
-Bimini top
-'Storage cover' - covers entire boat and attaches to trailer.
-Bow cover (vinyl cover that snaps around edge of open bow.
I'd like to eventually have a cockpit cover made.. the guy locally quoted me US$300-325 to make the thing, attach snaps to the boat (there aren't any now except at the top of the windshield), etc.
However, they need the boat for a week in order to make the cover. I'm going to put it in the water right away, considering the fact it's almost June and our summers here are short!
Is there a cover I can buy for this boat to leave it in the marina when it's not being used? It could potentially be sitting unused for a week or week & a half at a time. Previous owner kept it in his garage when not used (not an option for me).
I have seen some of those "mooring" type covers, but they all seem to attach under the boat. Is there a similar type cover that works like a "car cover" where I can spread it over the boat, then attach or tie it under the edge of the bow and transom?
Alternatively, any other ideas other than either a)yank the boat out of water & take it to a shop for a week to have cover made, or b)yank it out every weekend when I'm done with it (neither is a great option!)
Thanks!
Neal
