I am looking at a boat with THREE heads, each with an LectroSan unit. What (in general) are the major parts that may need replacing/fixing and the costs? I am trying to prepare a "contingency" list of stuff that might need doing after purchase.

Thanks!

Jim,

The only thing I think you will have to worry about is the electrode pack. You can do routine maintenance (muriatic acid cleaning) for the electrodes but sooner or later I was told they would have to be replaced. They are a bit pricey. I have yet to replace mine and I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck!

Jim, Craig's correct. BoatFix has the replacement electrode packs for $234.51, plus about $7.00 for UPS shipping. Raritan's factory price is over $300.00. Generally, they're good for 3-5 years.

Look at the Purasan units, also by Raritan. I'm going into year 3 with ours. Less expensive, no electrodes and low power draw (15 amps).
