Need some input. I live on Long Island and do most fishing in the Great South Bay. Looking to put some underwater LED lights on the back of my 17' Center Console. Looking for some input on brand and model of what someone is already using. Looking for the following info:

1. How Many Lumens?
2. What is the best color to use Blue or White?
3. Surface or thru Hull? Would pefer surface.
4. Housing material?

5. Would really like coments from someone that already has it installed and what their opinion and satisfaction with the make and model they instaled.

Thanks

Destination,
I'm guessing you want it for fishing...not trying to be a smartass but why? On a small boat you can easily connect a temporary underwater light w/o having to permanently mount the fixture. This is how we used/still to do it in the canyons on boats...great for attracting squid. In the GSB, not much squid but still draw in some critters. If you're doing it for some other reason then I'll stand down with my response.

Robski,
Has done this an IMO, when he does anything, he knows all the facts, wait for him to chime in.

Ps,
for fishing, white light, John C is the fisherman here.

If you stare down through the glass bottom of your boat at what the lights show up, you'll get terrified at some of the Forms that swim by. So big you can only see part of them as they go by.

I see the guys using those LED headlights and flash lights all taped up. I have no idea how they work for attracting fish though.
Get something smelly for attracting fish.

I like the idea of attaching to the trim tabs.

There will be NO holes in MY boat's hull for the sake of lights.
