Hi everyone! Just posting the link to the Liberty Boat Show;

http://www.libertyboatshow.com/

I've never been to it, but supposedly its a very big up and coming show for this area. This is the first year we'll be exhibiting boats there (the Sunsation speedboats)...

I wanted to post this because some of you were disappointed you didn't get to see that big 43' F-4 when it visited Mahopac on the way to the Poker Run. Well its going to be on display at the Liberty Boat Show, so if you don't mind missing a day of late season boating you can go down and see it there. I'm sure there will be plenty of other brands of fancy speedboats there as well, along with yachts, cruisers, runabouts, etc...

Just thought you'd like to know...

You in the water?

I'll probably be there Saturday if the weather is good. We get free tickets. Maybe we'll see each other. I'll keep my eye open for the 'socks'!!!

The show last year was better than the year before, hopefully this year will be even better.

Jonathan

Last year I didn't bother going since the previous 2 years it wasn't much of a show, but maybe I'll check it out this year if it's been getting better.

I usually skip Liberty and go to Norwalk...What no Vikings at the Liberty Show?

I don't know much about the show - I've never been there. I'm working one day but not sure which one...

The 43 will be on land I'm told, the smaller ones in the water. But lots of other boats will be in the water as well. I don't know if Viking will be there or not. Depends on the dealer, I guess...

I got 6 complimentry tickets this morning that I will not be able to use. Since it's to late to mail them we would have to meet up somewhere on Friday -
1. Penn Station around 7am or 3:30pm
2. Jersey City PATH station from 7:15am to 3pm
3. My office across the street from above - 499 Washington Blvd Jersey City
4. Newport Marina accross from my office - maybe I could leave them with the Dockmaster. (2 for her, 4 for you?)

Dave

Hey Dave,

How'd you score 6? I got one postcard in the mail for one free admission. I may go tomorrow. Maybe not. Not in the market for a new boat anyway.

I got 5 free tickets in the mail yesterday, plus I get free tickets since the show is one dock over from my boat and a major pain in the butt.

Give 'em free tickets.........and maybe they will show. New tactic for them.

Jonathan

Our Facilities manager got a stack about an inch thick from LeFrak, our building owner to hand out to all employees. They left the pile on the counter in the coffee rooms.

Dave

I hope that's not an omen that they have to give so many tickets away!!!

They were probably supposed to go to the tenants of Newport Marina which is also owned by Lefrak.

Hi Dave. I know its probably too late but I would love those complimentary tickets to the liberty boat show this weekend. Please email me at luis9953rb2@gr5tyahoo.com if you are still willing to give those away. I would email you directly but its not going through.
Thanks a million,
Luis

Went to the show today, VERY light traffic despite a perfect day. Good place to see boats, no line ups to get on them.

Not a great show. A lot of small boats but very few yachts. Last year Marine Max had a big Feretti. The indoor part had nothing to see. Although there weren't many people there, there were a lot of kids who were out of conrol. Jumping on beds on million dollar boats. Very annoying when you are actually trying to look at a boat.

I'm told today was a pretty good day down there for traffic, but I can't vouch for the amount of kid traffic. Its too bad that so many parents let their kids jump all over the boats...

Hope you enjoyed the show, Chris! Did you see our F-4 while you were there???

PS - sorry I wasn't able to get down there - I was working at the Mahopac Street Fair sitting smack in the middle of Route 6N in a pontoon boat. I filled up on hamburgers and junk food - not the best for an erstwhile cardiac patient. Actually took a Sunsation lead, though (don't ask me how THAT happened!), so maybe it wasn't all bad!!!

LOL, yeah I know, I overdid it. Oh well, back to noodles and beans for me!!!

I just found out today (duh!) that this was a DEMO boat show. Meaning that they took qualified buyers out for rides all day long. That sounded pretty cool - too bad I couldn't be part of it. Charles and Ricky used a full tank of gas on our 288 taking people out on rides...

A new dimension to boat shows. Too bad I only get to go to the boring ones...

They advertised that since the show first started, but the only times I went was Thursday or Friday after work and I didn't see anyone going out on demo rides. Actually I saw plenty of dealers close up early because no one was around... Didn't make it this year though. But the demo ride thing is a nice idea, and in NY harbor you can always find some rough water to cross to give the boat a good sea trial.

I was hanging around the show all weekend and noticed boats coming and going but never really saw that demos were being promoted.

One dealer did offer to take me for a ride but since I never buy new, I didn't want to waste his time.
