Well. received the dreaded call this am. The entire shed at J dock at Georgetown Marina came down. And yes, we were under it. Boats are all still floating but how low in the water remains to be seen. Recovery operations are in action right now. I'm sick...

That sucks. Hope nobody got hurt or gets hurt. Unfortunately, this area of the country is not ready for this much snow which will probably hamper the efforts. Hope the damage is nil or minimal.

A boater on another site had a shed drop on his boat in western VA a couple of days ago. Smith Mountain or Lake Anna.

Those shed at Georgetown have been deteroriating for years now. I thought they did some work on them after the last collapse a few years ago. Guess Georgetown didn't finish the job.

I hope all is well with your boat! Let us know how you make out.

I hope everyone is okay, and nobody got hurt. Stuff can be replaced.

Got back from the marina a few hours ago. What a mess! Nobody hurt, 40 something Post going down they are trying to salvage. Can barely see our boat. Yard crew took me out in the launch to see if I could get onboard. No way. Bow is about 12" low in the water from the weight. Stern is up. Engine cooling tell tales under water so I'm sure the exhaust is filling with water. Shed may have sucked, but yard crew really cared. Even got a call from our ins co that they are following up. Have pics will post when I can.
Thx all!

If you need anything I my house is in Chesapeake City 10-15minutes away. You can email me. I was stuck in Phoenix, but literally had the Amish boys putting up snow defenders on my new metal roof this Monday because we knew it was going to be bad.

Thanks Psugar but there is nothing that really can be done now. They are bringing in a crane on a barge to start the removal. Worked all day trying to get to our boat but still couldn't. Loun, you can't see it but it is the highest roof part, that's our flybridge (what's left). I've uploaded more pics from today. Sad...... I'll be back down tomorrow trying to get aboard. I'll get more pics. Don't have time to resize and post here right now. Still digging out at the house at night. I think we faired better than many. Yes, the bow rail is flat, upper salon roof bowed, radar..... gone, no broken windows on the Starboard cabin windows, can't see anything else. Low tide the boat was riding about 10" higher but with the tide coming in, she was starting to go lower. If she makes it through the night, I really hope to be aboard tomorrow. Update: ins co has 4 boats under the shed. One came 1 week ago, bad luck....
Thx!

No, the electric panel is in shambles. If I can get onboard I can get the genny going and charge. Our bilge pumps are 32 v and the genny start is 12v so I should be able to get it going. Only if I could get aboard! I'm trying my best and taking chances I shouldn't. The marina crew will be there tomorrow so it will be safer with people around vs. being alone like tonight with the finger pier leaning.

If I was going out there make sure you have a Life Jacket on and someone within a scream's distance knows where you are. Also be careful running the Genny. If everything around it is collapsed, it could trap some CO.

Sorry to hear of this.

Sorry for your loss.

If you need a strong back or an extra set of hands this weekend email me.

I also offer to buy you a beer at the Chesapeake Inn.

Yeah, same here.
Hope the insurance companies involved do you right....easily!

Thanks for all the thoughts! I finally got aboard today. No water in the bildge, motor oil was level but I still have to bar over the motors. Upper salon roof crushed by a 1000 lb I beam. Lots of damage but the cabin top held! Don't know about the damage as the cabin top as is still on it but I will say, old Chris Crafts are tanks! Boat next to me almost turned turtle but they finally got it back up. Motors were under water and major damage. I faired better than others but we are still f'ed. Sad stuff. The marina guys are a bunch of nuts! Cutting everything with chain saws including the metal roof. Full panic mode today. The coasties came by and mentioned about Bo Bay. Can't cut those roofs with chain saws. Maybe I'll take up another hobby.... I'll update when I can as I've spent the past 3 days down there and going back through the w/e. Getting lots of pics. Our thoughts are with everyone at bo bay.

Our thoughts are with you, froggy. We all feel pretty badly when something like this happens. I know that I don't have to say this, but be careful out there. The dynamics have changed there and you may have extreme agita over this. Just watch yourself.

This is just plumb awful. I'm so sorry. Hope you and the others are careful. No sense getting hurt over what is, in the end, just stuff. Take care.
