At various times, I've seen reference to national lists of surveyors. I may be in need of hull and engine surveyors in NC and will need to identify quality surveyors soon.

Pls help!

Hey Jim. Good to hear how you're making out. Did you find a 'new' boat? Remember that 46 uniflite at Summit you looked at? Well, it went down a few weeks ago. What a shame! Anyway, I don't know anyone in NC. Good luck.

Jim-
I bought my Silverton in NC and here's the surveyor I used. He did a great job and was easy to talk to.

Froggy,

I'm still shopping and found a "possible" in NC, hence the question. There were two 46's in Summit Marina... I'll see if I can find out which one it was. Did it sink in the slip?

Arks1 - thanks for the tip. Assuming we can get an agreed upon $, I'll call Robert and see if we can work together.

Thanks!

Jim, the one that sank was listed for sale. It's name was ______ Dream (not my boat so I don't like posting the name). I think nightmare is the correct term now. Yep, sank overnight in the slip. Haven't heard why though.

I think this is the same boat I talked to a very indignant broker last summer who told be both engines were "sour" and the price was "non negotiable". I wonder...

Jim,

If you haven't already found it go to www.marinesurvey.org

Gary, et al.

I did finally purchase a boat near Ft Lauderdale FL this week. On the SAMS website there are lots of accredited Florida surveyors, but I will also need the best Detroit Diesel engine surveyor I can find for the engines. If anyone can suggest an engine surveyor knowledgable on Detroits, I'd sure like a reference. In advance, thanks!

Jim,

Good luck. If all goes well when will you bring her north?

Mikee,

We have some things to do and I have work schedule issues (I don't need to tell YOU that!), so it looks like about July 1 to start north- not best time (too damn hot!), but want to get out before hurricane season really gets started.
