I have the Lofrans Progress 1 windlass. Every now & then I will get a jam which necessitates removing the cover. The cover is held on with two hex head metric bolts (M8x25). One of those bolts was stripped. Contacting Imtra (they sell Lofrans in the US), I found out I have to buy the whole screw kit for $38, plus shipping. Kind of crazy since I only need one bolt.
I found a great hardware store in Warwick, RI who has a large selection of stainless metric, and the exact replacement of the Lofrans bolt for $1.40. So I bought a few to have spares. If anyone needs any, contact Kevin at 401-739-1029. salkshardware.com
