This is a long shot but does anyone know where one can rent a trailer that can handle a 14,000 lb 10 foot beam 40 footer in SE Florida? It's a fat cigarette boat shaped hull.

I have a buddy who trailers his Harley (boat) all over the county with a gas 454 powered dually and his boat is 3,000 pounds heavier than mine due to diesels and some other options.

I need to literally go 4 miles on back streets - pull old motors and drop in newer ones (with fork lift) and plop it back in the water. Could be done over a weekend. Any one know anyone who would rent me their trailer?

all the boat hauling guys are bailing out to cash in on the loooong runs up north and the idea of driving her 3 hours on one engine without power steering through yaght infested waterways like the new river makes my wallet sweat with lawsuit fear. Towing service will charge me a thousand bucks to get it there.

found some rental place $200 per day but I would need a dieselor bg gas 4x4 - time to try driving it to FLL I guess.....motors are almost ready

I thought all this was resolved a week or so ago? Didn't you have a friend or something that was gonna tow the boat to where the engines were and you were gonna drop em in etc. etc. etc. ?

he lives in VA and his wife is having neck surgery this week so they wont be down for at least a month.....getting hot out there

Try CMack transport. That's who I used to bring mine up from Punta Gorda to New York. I'm not sure if the spelling is correct butit's the general idea and if you Google it you'll probably find it....
Scratch that.....I just called Punta Gorda Marine and I guess the guy went out of business.

Looks like I am locked in for this Friday ramp haul out....cross fingers all goes okay

??????????????????? No details?.....Who'd ya use?

I dont want to post his name until he actually comes through for me .... got him as a referal from KMC marine in LHP (freind of mine) - he moves their larger boats for boat shows. If he bales (for whatever reason - trailer problem, mecahnical, longer boat delivery....) I'll drive the boat to the DIY marina with a buddy shadowing me in case I need a last minute tow.
