Anybody know of someone that can detail the topsides in Englewood this week? I am just not going to have time.

Most of us either do it ourselves or have the yard do it. I usually hire day laborers to do the work. There is a local road that they hang out on waiting to be picked up by landscapers. They are great workers and appreciate being on a boat rather then hauling rocks for 10 hours. Cost is about $10.00 an hour but I usually give them $100.00 each for 6 to 8 hours of work. A quick instruction and hand them wax and rags and their off. If you go this route, make sure at least one speaks english.

I also usually either do it myself or have the yard do it. However the yard said they can't get to it for several more weeks. I wanted to get a couple of laborers as well. We get them all the time for work around the house, and have had a great experience with them. However, I wanted to be with them when they do it, and I don't have the time before this weekend. Maybe I could bring them with me for the weekend and they could detail it in the anchorage? If only I knew someone with a big boat and a couple of extra staterooms so they had a place to stay. :)

Hank next time you purchase a boat (#9) try to get one that sleeps more than 2. That would help Greg out a lot.....

Bill-I'ts so strange but every boat I look at has a maximum sleeping capacity of two. Greg-Glad your the lead dog going into Zachs. It looks like we will be entering at low tide and from what I'm reading, it is quite tricky. Do you think 10 is early enough to arrive and get a spot with reasonable water under us? I do hjear the show is amazing.

Jones at low tide should not be a problem any more. They just removed almost 680,000 cubic yards of sand from the inlet. There should be at least 10-12 feet at low tide, and it's pretty well marked. From what I hear there are not even breakers in the inlet any more.

As for getting there early enough, we have people getting there Friday and anchoring dinghys and floats to reserve our spot. If you want to leave a little earlier though I am good with that. It will give us a bit more room to move about in the bay before it gets too crowded. But looking at the numbers again, it's only roughly 35 statute miles from the statue to the inlet, even with the no wake zones we should be there well before 10.

The show is pretty good, The Blue Angels are incredible.

I'm looking forward to this trip! Greg are they saving room for all of us? Keep in mind there will be four of us plus yourself that I know of. I'm good with heading out anytime you think fit on Saturday I can't travel as fast as you please keep this in mind.

You four alone will be about 70' wide. You better get there plenty early

I can't wait for this trip either. It will be our first trip of the season. We got a really late start this year.
They should be saving room for all of us, there are now 14 confirmed boats going (including all of us) and 11 maybies.

What time in the morning would you guys like to leave? I get up early, so I'm good with whatever time. I guess we can figure it out Friday night.

We can confirm departure Friday night. Since we don't have history of prior trips, it's hard for us to say. I just know what I am reading that it fills up quickly and is a bit of a zoo. Once we're anchored, watching the going's on will be a lot of fun.
